Modern Spring Wedding at Charles Morris Center

It's not every day you get to capture the love between such a sweet couple like Alex and Jake! Ever since their engagement session, I just knew that their big day would be full of so many special moments.

The morning of their big day started with getting ready with the girls! I arrived at the bridal Airbnb and the vibes were just right. Alex was getting her finishing touches on by hair and makeup and then we made our way upstairs for her to gather her belongings and get her accessories on. It was in those precious moments, watching her put her earrings in, that we saw the first glimpse of emotion. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized the significance of the day and her excitement to see Jake.

As the day went on, we made our way to the ceremony and reception venue, Charles Morris Center, one of my favorites in Savannah. It was there that we got to capture Alex and her bridesmaid’s first look - which was so sweet - as well as their gorgeous group photos. Nothing quite like your besties rallying behind you on your big day. I also got to hang with Jake for the first time that day and seeing just how excited he was to finally see Alex walk down the aisle was priceless. There were so many smiles going around leading up to the ceremony.

It was then when the rain started to make its way over to Charles Morris - slightly delaying our ceremony time but all of us vendors jumped right in - determined to get our sweet couples married in the courtyard like they dreamed of! Guests enjoyed an early cocktail hour, while we all rallied to dry off the seats at our ceremony site. The time had FINALLY come for these two to see one another.

Jake, waiting at the end of the aisle, was a picture of nervous excitement. You could see the anticipation in his eyes as he eagerly awaited the moment when he would see his bride walking down the aisle. And when Alex appeared, it was as if time stopped. The look on Jake's face was nothing short of pure joy and love. He couldn't take his eyes off his beautiful bride, and it was a sight that warmed everyone's hearts. Best believe, even I was teary-eyed behind my camera.

From that moment forward, Alex and Jake were all smiles, and their happiness was infectious. The rain had cleared, and the sun began to shine, but it was the radiant smiles of A + J that truly lit up the day. Their love was so real in every stolen glance, every loving touch, and every shared laugh.

We spent the rest of the night in true celebration! From wedding party photos, first dance, and heartfelt speeches to the dance floor that seemed to never empty. Alex and Jake celebrated their love with their closest friends and family, and it was an honor to share these memories with them!

As a wedding photographer, I often find myself immersed in the emotions of the day, and Alex and Jake's gorgeous Savannah wedding was no exception. Rain or shine, their love was so evident! And after all, rain on your wedding day is good luck right?
